About This Webinar:

Subject Matter

This is the fifth exempt organization webinar to be conducted by YH Advisors, the Exempt Org Experts. Notwithstanding the fact that private foundations are §501(c)(3) entities just like public charities, private foundations are subject to far more burdensome regulations than public charities are. Additionally, private foundations are restricted from undertaking numerous types of activities (for example, lobbying and insider transactions) and private foundations are potentially subject to six different types of taxes (one income tax and five penalty excise taxes).

Accordingly, this webinar will address the most perilous pitfalls and traps which a private foundation might potentially conduct. Topics to be addressed during the webinar include self-dealing, taxable expenditures, minimum distribution requirements, calculation of fair market value, the net investment income calculation, foreign grants, Form 990-PF preparation issues, reasonable compensation and private foundation governance.

This webinar will be focused upon providing the private foundations / exempt organizations practitioner and private foundations executive with guidance and valuable resources/tools to best ensure that they possess the requisite knowledge to address all of the applicable private foundation tax/legal issues which they may confront. There are no prerequisites and no advance preparation required for attending this webinar.

Learning Objectives

  • Gain an understanding of the Internal Revenue Service’s key areas of focus and scrutiny of private foundations.
  • Learn about the most essential rules and regulations which private foundations must adhere to.
  • Learn how to best avoid the imposition of any of the five different penalty excise taxes.
  • Learn strategies regarding how to take advantage of, and preserve, any important private foundation tax attributes and benefits

For those registering for this webinar on or prior to November 20, 2012, the cost is $139. For those registering on or after  November 21, 2012, the cost is $159. Please see below if you plan to have multiple participants in the same location.
